In light of the President’s recent Executive Orders titled "Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government" and “Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling,” DoDEA is conducting an operational compliance review to ensure alignment with the Executive Orders.

Nominations for the Educator of Promise Award will be accepted until March 28, 2025.

“If we went on a road trip, she would plan it, and I would decorate it,” Jessica Mitchell said, throwing her head back in laughter with her sister, Caletha Ellis. Mitchell, Alconbury Middle High School’s fine arts teacher and DoDEA Europe West District’s 2022 Teacher of the Year, reflected on the roles she and Ellis have played throughout their lives. “That’s the way it has always been,” Mitchell said, glancing at Ellis seated next to her. “She has always been such an inspiration to the whole family.”
