DoWEA Announces State Winners for the Presidential AI Challenge
In April 2025, an executive order directed the establishment of the Presidential AI Challenge to expand artificial intelligence education for America’s youth. DoWEA is proud to recognize 2026 Presidential AI Challenge State Champion teams in nine DoWEA schools.
Sevilla students earn national recognition in U.S. Crystal Growing Competition
Two students from Sevilla Elementary Middle School have earned national recognition for their work in chemistry and scientific experimentation. Eighth graders Mateo G. and Sam M. placed second nationwide in the K–8 Overall Best Crystal category during the annual U.S. Crystal Growing Competition.
Writer’s Gallery Showcases Student Voice and Growth at Sevilla Elementary Middle School
Sevilla Elementary Middle School opened its doors in January for a Writer’s Gallery that transformed the school’s multipurpose room into a showcase of student voice, creativity, and academic growth. Families and community members were invited to view student writing from kindergarten through eighth grade, highlighting the progression of skills from early brainstorming to polished final pieces.
